Wore this through a 90-degree commute and the underarm panels kept my shirt noticeably drier than my old cotton v-necks. The cotton itself is soft without feeling flimsy, and the v-neck hasn't stretched out after several washes.
The underarm insets actually do something — after a humid commute I checked my shirt and there was barely a mark. The cotton's soft enough that I forget I'm wearing it under a dress shirt.
